Botox

What is BOTOX® Cosmetic?

BOTOX® Cosmetic is the only approved treatment to temporarily improve the appearance of both moderate to severe frown lines between the brows and crow’s feet lines in adults.

BOTOX® Cosmetic is one of the most extensively studied medical aesthetic treatments and is approved for cosmetic use in 78 countries.* BOTOX® Cosmetic has a record of experience that aesthetic specialists know and trust.

How does BOTOX® Cosmetic work?

BOTOX® Cosmetic targets  the underlying causes of frown lines and crow’s feet—the repeated muscle contractions from frowning and squinting over the years. Your specialist will inject these muscles with BOTOX® Cosmetic to temporarily reduce muscle activity. Gradually those muscles will begin to relax and you will notice a softening of the lines & wrinkles in the treated area.

Will BOTOX® Cosmetic make me look like I’ve had work done?

BOTOX® Cosmetic is a technique-sensitive treatment. When  treated by a licensed, trained, medical expert in facial anatomy, you should not lose the ability to make normal facial expressions. It is important for you to communicate your desired result so that your unique outcome meets your expectations.

Does BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment hurt?

There is virtually no discomfort and most patients report that being injected with BOTOX® Cosmetic feels like a slight pinch.  If you are concerned about discomfort, your specialist may apply a topical numbing cream or the use of ice before administering  your treatment.

How quickly will I see a result and how long will it last?

For most patients results can be seen in as little as 3-5 days with results lasting approximately 3-4 months. Muscle contractions will return to the same as they were prior to treatment unless retreated.

Fillers

What are dermal fillers?

Dermal Fillers such as Juvederm, Restylane, Voluma & Volbella  can be used for a number of things. They are used to re-contour the face,  to soften lines & wrinkles, and to restore  volume to ares of the face that naturally lose volume as we age due to loss of collagen & subcutaneous fat in the cheeks, chin, lips and other areas that have lost volume or definition due to the aging process.

Are dermal fillers safe?

Dermal fillers are very safe. Dermal fillers are hyaluronic acid which is a naturally occurring substance in our bodies. Therefore allergic reactions  are rare and serious complications from the procedure are uncommon, hence allergy testing is not required.

Are injections painful?

Typically ice or numbing cream is applied prior to treatment making the injections very comfortable.

What can I expect immediately after?

You will see an immediate improvement in the treated area with some degree of swelling that may last a day or 2. As with any injection into the skin there is the possibility of bruising. Discontinuing aspirin, NSAIDS and any supplements that are known blood thinners such as fish oil will help to minimize bruising.

How long will the results last?

Depending on which fillers are used, and where they are placed, results can last anywhere from 4 months to well over 1 yr.
